While acknowledging the supremacy of parental authority in education, this presentation intends to lay out the potential pitfalls of so called “school choice” initiatives. After discussing the definition, perceived need, potential solutions, issues with those solutions, potentiality of encumbrances (strings). Practical recommendations will include promoting legislative definitions that differentiate home educators from students using school choice, eliminating educationally ineffective schooling paradigms, and surviving without government help.
